New York vs Dallas Playoff Preview

The Major League Lacrosse (MLL) Playoffs begin this Saturday, Aug. 11 with what could be termed coincidental recent familiarity, as both matchups are exact in terms of teams and venues from games played just last weekend, July 28-29. The fourth-place New York Lizards (8-6) will return to the Ford Center at The Star, where they squeaked one out a week ago Sunday against the regular-season champion Dallas Rattlers (11-3) by the score of 13-12.

New York vs Dallas

The game marked the first time the Rattlers lost in their new digs since relocating from Rochester and snapped a seven-game win streak. The Lizards have won the past seven meetings against the Rattlers will try to win the franchise’s fourth Steinfeld Trophy, having last won it in 2015 with a 15-12 decision over the Rattlers. The Rattlers’ lone MLL Championship came in 2008.

Meanwhile, the second-place Chesapeake Bayhawks (9-5) will once again host the third-place Denver Outlaws (8-6) in the first of two MLL semifinal games. Chesapeake beat Denver twice during the regular season, 24-22 in May and 13-11 in Annapolis on July 28.
